NMFS is seeking federally licensed, limited entry bottom trawl vessels to take part in a study that seeks to minimize salmon bycatch in the shorebased IFQ fishery. Please see (link ) for further details on the study and requirements for participation.

On September 15th, 34,000 mt of Pacific whiting are being reallocated from the tribal allocation to commercial non-tribal commercial allocations. The revised allocations are as follows:

  • Catcher/processor:  114,149mt
  • Mothership:  80,575mt
  • Shorebased:  141,007mt
  • Tribal: 30,322 mt
