Query Builder User Guide – Step by step documentation on how to use the Query Builder system.

PacFIN West Coast Groundfish Scorecard Report – Documentation on the data sources and design of the Groundfish Scorecard Report.

Comprehensive_BDS – Detailed documentation on the contents of the comprehensive biological data sample (BDS) table (comprehensive_bds_comm). The comprehensive_bds_comm is a combination of the sample, cluster, fish and age tables from the agency BDS data feeds. BDS data is submitted by the state agencies and provides biological data on species sampled on trips. Value added fields such as IFQ areas and code descriptions and translations were added to the table to assist in its use for analysis and reporting. The goal of this table is to eliminate the need for users to have thorough knowledge of the database in order to make the joins necessary to extract data correctly.

Comprehensive_FT – The Comprehensive Fish Ticket table includes all shoreside landings on the West Coast, and is designed for both retrospective analyses and in-season management. This standardized table of state agency fish tickets is generated by using a collection of base data sources along with auxiliary data and value-added information from federal and state agencies to further define records and associated entities. These enhancements are built alongside the original source data to allow PacFIN users the ability to query both the enhanced, as well as raw data from the same table. Value-added information includes landing classifications into fisheries or sectors, federal permit information, vessel registrations, and Office of Law Enforcement vessel declarations, as well as catch-by-area and species composition proportions (supplied by the state agencies) to improve reporting of catch areas, nominal species categories, and multispecies market categories for groundfish landings. Further enhancements include fish ticket data entered through the PSMFC Electronic Fish Tickets (i.e. Etickets) program are incorporated in order to provide near real-time monitoring of catch share fisheries, such as the IFQ groundfish fishery.

Comprehensive_npac – Detailed documentation on the contents of the comprehensive NORPAC table (comprehensive_npac). The comprehensive_npac table reports observer data from at-sea motherships and catcher processors. Estimate are used to return values from any unsampled hauls. Other value added fields such as vessel information, and code translations and descriptions are added to the data to make one large source used for analysis and reporting. The goal of this table is to eliminate the need for users to have thorough knowledge of the database in order to make the joins necessary to extract data correctly.
