PacFIN Explorer has been updated to allow nominal and actual species to be combined in analyses based on the comprehensive_ft dataset. Groundfish species are reported to PacFIN as nominal and dockside species composition samples are used to determine the actual composition of the nominal species. In some cases species composition samples are unavailable and the species remains as nominal. Combining nominal and actual species codes provides the best estimate of total landed weight.
